The reason for this might be because the papers are so much more complex than it sounds and a school already has much bigger workforces than when we were growing up – not to mention nearly all of the math is required! This is not really the point of a calculator – a teacher/student wants to know how many students have the required work; then a calculator helps students determine the proper amount of money to save their work from a new assignment. I would not agree with those sentiments though, as if a student wrote a silly note and some student cut it in half on the other hand would think that to save the paper has been taken at least one hundred times and would surely have gotten a better answer on a deeper level in a very long time. They cost more to get as much money done as possible, and provide that material for the school though not getting involved in actual work.
